Sunday 10 February 2019, served as the first Young People’s Service for 2019,

but also as the final Young People’s Service conducted by Apostle A. Kriel.

The Young People of Kuils River, Stellenbosch and Swellendam areas, filled the hall of Tafelsig Congregation for the Young People’s Service.

As a basis for this divine service the Apostle used a Bible word from 2 Chronicles 1 verses 9 and 10 – ‘Now, O Lord God, let Your promise to David my father be established, for You have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of Yours?’

The Young People’s Service had a slightly different format; as part of this a Bible reading by a young sister was included into the service. The Apostle advised that all divine services for Young People will follow this format in future. For this portion, the Bible word came from 2 Timothy 4:5-8. The new liturgy also included a moment of silence that was observed before Holy Communion.

Bishops B Norman, L Ravell and J Cook were called to serve along.

After the divine service, Bishop Norman thanked the Apostle for all the years of leading the Young People. The Young People ended the morning with a rendition of “We will keep our faith alive”, as an expression of gratitude to the Apostle.
