A special hour of blessing in Parow Valley Congregation, for the divine service of the departed was held by Bishop L. Ravell on Sunday, 2 July 2017.

As basis for the divine service, the Bishop used the Bible Word: Ezekiel 34:12,  “As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day.”

The Word enlightens that God promised the people of Israel through Ezekiel that He would have mercy on them, bring the captives back to Jerusalem from Babylon, and rebuild the temple. Jesus used this image in order to describe His saving activity and that He is the good Shepherd who seeks the lost sheep. We should ask the Lord to preserve us through His grace and know that the heart of our Shepherd is forgiving. Jesus is our true, awesome Shepherd.
