On Sunday 17 September 2017, the congregation of Parow Valley celebrated a special ruby wedding

anniversary blessing of the retired Priest Sparks and his wife. The divine service was held by Bishop L. Ravell and as basis for the divine service the Bible word used was from Galatians 3:28 "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

This Word follows on from the example District Apostle J Kriel used, of the lad who shared his two small fish and five barley loaves with Jesus who then blessed the food and thousands could be fed; it was not about who was rich or poor, white or black, Jew or gentile, or even educated. Everyone ate from the same fish and bread, and this is how it will be in the Kingdom of God, irrespective of our differences, because we are all one in Jesus Christ.

The Bishop emphasized the participation in the different areas of the Lord's work, whether it be music, church cleaning, or asking our Priest what we can do, even the task by just praying for him. In the world we live in today, we judge others, but God's love and grace are for everyone and there are no parameters. Therefore, we should equally love our neighbour.
