The excitement and preparations for Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider’s visit to East London
continued the weekend of 9 to 10 November 2019. Choir and orchestra members from the areas of Apostle T Nene and Apostle G Mintoor gathered in Port Elizabeth. The group consisted of members from East London, Port Elizabeth, Grahamstown, Alexandria, Queenstown, Middelburg and Cradock. With distances as far as 450km one-way for the furthest point, and 100km for the closest group, these geographical challenges necessitated a 6-hour workshop for Saturday.
The weekend started on Saturday, 9 November 2019, with a choir rehearsal in Fernwood Park Congregation, while orchestra rehearsals continued in Palmridge Congregation. The concert group joined later the afternoon for their combined rehearsal in Palmridge Congregation.
A surprise visit from Apostle Mintoor set the tone for their combined rehearsal the afternoon and added to the joy and excitement, where the Apostle shared thoughts of encouragement, and expressed his appreciation.
On Sunday morning, 10 November 2019, both the choir and orchestra members attended the Divine Service in Palmridge Congregation, followed by a rehearsal until lunch time. The members had lunch together, before going on their various ways back home.
With the visit of our Chief Apostle to East London being only one month away, the excitement is at an all-time high.
