The vibrant young people of Northpine Congregation and the Springbok area were invited to accompany the Apostle Thompson to a Young People’s Divine Service in Vredendal on Sunday 17 February 2019.
Saturday morning about 5:30, the Young People of Northpine embarked on the three to four hours’ drive to Vanrhynsdorp. On arrival in Vanrhynsdorp, the Young People had something to eat and thereafter, were ready to go to Vredendal. There they met up with the Young People of the area to sing at a local old age home where they brought joy to the seniors. After the singing, the Young People enjoyed some fellowship at the Community Evangelist’s home, where they connected and sang together in preparation for the Young People’s Service the Sunday morning.
The Young People’s Service was conducted by Apostle P Thompson. The Bible word which served as basis for the divine service was from 2 Chronicles 1:9-10, ‘Now O Lord God, let Your promise to David my father be established, for You have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; who can judge this great people of Yours?’
One of the young sisters did the Bible reading taken from 2 Timothy 4:5-8.
The divine service was moving and spiritually enriching. The experience was humbling and invaluable, especially for the newly confirmed Young People.
After the divine service the Apostle made time to greet all the Young People and took some photos. Then it was time to take the trip back to Cape Town and all arrived safely home.
The Young People of Northpine are now looking forward to more missionary trips.
