On Saturday 30 March 2019, most of the congregations in the Stellenbosch Bishop Area
arranged various fun-day activities for the Sunday School children and teachers. The fun-day activities, set the scene and prepared all for the festive divine service on Sunday, 31 March 2019. On this Sunday, more than a thousand children, teachers and ministers gathered at Gordon High School in Somerset West. There was great excitement amongst the young congregation for this festive divine service conducted by Apostle AD Kriel. Bishop L Ravell, all rectors and the Sunday School teachers of the area, accompanied the Apostle.
Many of the children, teachers and ministers travelled by bus or taxi to attend this service. Apart from the festive and enjoyable divine service, the highlight of the day was for the children to sing in a mass choir and to play hymns on their recorders as one united congregation. Many of the teachers and ministers joined in the playing of recorders during the divine service.
Apostle AD Kriel read the Bible word out of 2 Kings 5:3, “Then she said to her mistress, ‘If only my master were with the prophet who is in Samaria! For he would heal him of his leprosy.’” The children participated enthusiastically during the divine service.
After the divine service, everyone was invited to enjoy some refreshments and moments of fellowship with ministers, teachers and one another. Thereafter, the children, teachers and ministers travelled home, to go and share their great experiences with their family and friends. They are excited and looking forward to the visit of the Chief Apostle on 11 May 2019!
