On Sunday 7 June 2015, a small group of Sunday school teachers and children decided to warm the hearts and bodies of the occupants of the Haven night shelter by donating winter blankets to them.

The Haven is a shelter for the homeless and is not funded by the government, and therefore, is totally dependent on donations and fundraising. The Haven is only supposed to be a night shelter but currently provides 3 mealtimes, shelter and ablution facilities. With the assistance of a social worker  help is provided to rehabilitate the homeless and those that abuse substances. The mission of the Haven is to integrate the homeless people as far as possible with their families.
As winter can be devastating to those less fortunate, the donation was warmly welcomed by the Supervisor, Mr Primo. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to Eikendal congregation for the wonderful donation.
