On Sunday 14 July 2013 District Apostle N Barnes conducted an audio visually transmitted divine service from the Erica East church in Belhar.

The gathered congregation for this service was a special one: ministers and their wives. At the commencement of the divine service the district apostle conveyed the thanks of the chief apostle to the co-workers for their commitment in serving the Lord. The sermon itself was based on 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him. Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.” With this, focus was placed on the Church’s mission. The core message of Reaching out to all people was underpinned by the words of Chief Apostle Schneider where he in a recent interview said: “Let us sweep everyone along in the love for the Lord”.

Providing soul care for all became even more evident and audible when the vast congregation was addressed in four languages. English, Afrikaans, Xhosa and Lozi speakers received spiritual sustenance when they were served in their respective mother tongues by Apostles M Diedricks, T Nene, J Kriel and Bishop L Masule who were called to serve alongside the District Apostle. This special gathering of ministers and wives also served as preparatory to events scheduled for the upcoming visit of Chief Apostle J Schneider to Cape Town in March 2014.After the divine service it was back to the meeting room at the Dennekraal Conference Centre where all the Apostles and Bishops of the Cape District Church gathered to discuss plans for the months ahead.
