On Sunday 30 June 2019, District Apostle J Kriel conducted a divine service in Lincoln Estate congregation.
Belthorn congregation was also invited to attend the divine service.
The Bible word Hebrews 13:1-3 served as a basis for the divine service, “Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. Remember the prisoners as if chained with them-those who are mistreated-since you yourselves are in the body also.”
Before the commencement of the sermon, the choir sang the hymn “He lifts me up”. The District Apostle used this statement to assure the members that God can lift you up because He is stronger than the forces of evil.
As we intensify our preparation for the divine service for the departed, the District Apostle focused on the themes of loving our neighbour and entertaining strangers. He urged members to act selflessly when it comes to those around us- here on earth, and in the beyond.
Apostle Worship was also called to serve along.
Before the conclusion of the divine service, the District Apostle bestowed the golden wedding anniversary blessing on retired Priest Dennis Theunis and his wife, Illona. While preparing to dispense the blessing upon the couple, he made mention of the fact that the couple’s marriage was always ruled by love and most importantly God’s will. He encouraged the couple to continue to accept that which the Lord has given them, and He will continue to bless them.
