After 3 months of virtual divine services, members from the congregation on La Réunion Island celebrated their first divine service on 14 June 2020 after lockdown regulations became less stringent on the Island.
Strict regulations regarding social distancing remain in place and members had to adjust to the new protocols validated by the French authorities. While attending divine services, members have to wear masks, are not allowed to sing or have any contact with each other. However, these restrictions did not minimise the joy the members felt when they reunited in God's house.
The congregation remains aware of the situation in South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia and Mayotte where Holy Communion cannot be celebrated yet. The members have assured us that their hearts remain with us and also encouraged all to continue to trust in God during this time.
