On Sunday 22 November 2020, District Apostle J Kriel conducted the morning divine service in Mdantsane congregation, East London.

In adherence to social distancing protocols, the church building was filled to its new maximum capacity, while those in attendance awaited the blessed teaching through the ambassador of Christ.

As the District Apostle took up his place behind the altar, a music item by the soloist filled the hall with beautiful sound.

The Bible word which served as the basis for the divine service was taken out of John 20:13; “Then they said to her, ‘Woman, why are you weeping? She said to them, ‘Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid Him’.”

The District Apostle assured the congregation of God’s unwavering love, that God will never leave us and that He is faithful and true. God’s love for us will carry us, be it through tears, sorrow, hardship and through happy moments.

The District Apostle also served the souls in the realms of the departed with Holy Communion.

Before the conclusion of the divine service, the District Apostle placed Bishop Athol Nel into a well-deserved retirement. Bishop Nel served in the ministry for 38 years. The District Apostle expressed his sincere gratitude to him for being a true servant in the work of the Lord. He also continued by thanking the Bishop’s wife and his extended family for their love and support over the years.

The soloist joyfully concluded the morning in God’s house with the beautiful rendition of Thanks be to God!

The District Apostle bid the congregation a fond farewell from the altar as a blessed hour in the house of the Lord came to a close.
