After many weeks of extensive travelling while accompanying Chief Apostle J Schneider in the USA and Germany, District Apostle N Barnes returned home where he was scheduled to conduct the divine service for the departed in the congregation of Bellville South.
On Sunday 2 March 2014 the preparedness and joyful disposition of the congregants’ anticipation merged and filled the church hall with a reverend atmosphere. Much of this was attributed to the soul soothing musical items presented by the expansive orchestra and choir that greeted members upon their arrival.
The District Apostle was joined by Apostle J Stephens, W Diedericks and M Diedricks as well as Bishops L Ravell, B Adonis, C Van Wyk, V Fisher and J Bucchianeri. The latter, Bishop J Bucchianeri, escorted the Finance Strategy Group (FSG) of the New Apostolic Church International who was in Cape Town on a working visit.
As a basis for the divine service the district apostle served with the words out of Romans 5: 10 “For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” Being reconciled with God and living in Christ served as the central theme of the divine service.
