The congregation of Tafelsig together with all the members from the Grassy Park, Lentegeur and Rocklands Bishop Area celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, 20 April 2014.

Their coming together on this special day was as a result of an invitation by District Apostle N Barnes who, on this occasion, was joined by the apostles and bishops of greater Cape Town.

The divine service held in the Tafelsig church was audio-visually transmitted to congregations in the working area of Apostle De Vries. As is customary with festive divine services on the religious calendar, Easter Sunday warranted a scripture reading. A passage was read from the Bible shortly after the commencement of the divine service which placed the day in context: “And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power” (1 Corinthians 6:14).

During the course of this divine service the District Apostle, by commission of the Chief Apostle, placed Bishop N Warner into retirement. The bishop had served as a minister for 29 years, seven thereof in the bishop ministry.

A touring youth orchestra from Germany, also in attendance, concluded their visit to Cape Town by posing for one last photograph with District Apostle Barnes before boarding the bus which would transport them to the airport for their return journey home.
